Grades d'atteinte des animaux

Information from the field have led to find an increase in this phenotype and more importantly in the offrspring of a bull who sires big calves.

The calf affected with SAP has "rusty" joints and a cleft palate.

The word "atresia" hides different diseases that must be confirmed by autopsy of animals. This differential diagnosis is necessary to avoid mixing up phenotypes and creating confusion in research.

In the Holstein breed there has been a resurgence of the spastic syndrom. This disease is described as having a heriditary component in the USA and Canada. The National Observatory for bovine genetic diseases is looking for confirmed cases of crampy. A case is considered as confirmed if all the following major inclusion criteria are present. Certain minor criteria may also be present.

Un éleveur de la Creuse achète un taureau pour la reproduction de son troupeau. Après plusieurs mois il s’aperçoit qu’aucune vache parmi la trentaine mise au pré avec le taureau n’est gestante. Il prend alors contact avec l’Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse pour identifier la cause de cette stérilité.
